The mirror at the bottom hangs from and is supported entirely by the stainless steel cable hanging from the top steel structure. The top steel structure is hung from 2 heavy duty lag bolts.

The top bar is a 6 foot wide, 1/4" think sheet of plate steel. A 6' length of angle iron with 71 short lengths of threaded rod attached was welded on the back. Another length of angle iron matching the top one was welded to a metal frame to which the mirror is attached.
71 lengths of stainless steel cable have a washer welded to each end. The top structure and the mirror itself are joined by attaching both ends of the cables to the threaded rods on the back of both structures and then secured with lock nuts.
The mirror was hand cut and then fine tuned by sanding. Then a piece of plywood was adhered to the back for mounting onto the hanging frame.
There are metal rods running the length of the top bar on the back side for hanging. Due to it's size and weight, at least 2 lag bolts screwed into studs are necessary to support the functional art Wave wall mirror.
